Wireless sensing for emotional intelligence

The work discussed in this paper is part of an exploratory study in utilising a smartphone Wi-Fi signal to sense for a heart rate at a distance, then to translate changes to the heart rate variation to corresponding emotions such a happiness or frustration. This technology can offer an innovative contactless method for enhancing understanding individual or group emotions and provide an objective measurement for emotional intelligence.
