SybilComm: Sybil community detection using persuading function in IoT system

Internet of Things (IoT) system vulnerability to Sybil attacks with malicious bogus identity generation has been investigated in this paper. Malicious users hope that utility requesting from a lot of bogus identities is able to persuade the authority to deploy utilities in their area rather than in the other areas. To protect real users from the attack, the system administrator must try to detect all of the Sybil identities. With IoT system represented as a graph, newly introduced notion of persuading function and the assumption of more attack edges than mistaken edges, Sybil community (SybilComm) algorithm is proposed. The Monte Carlo simulation results are then highlighted to verify the effectiveness of this Sybil community detection algorithmic framework with natural future extensions also discussed.
