Output feedback model predictive control for nano-material distribution system

Material distribution systems have been widely used in the synthesis of materials and manufacture of components. Precise position control of these systems is complicated because of nonlinearity with multiple inputs and multiple outputs, where many noise sources impacting on the system. A nonlinear model was built by taking into account all the external noise such as, white noise, noise from the gear boxes, and noise due to friction. To improve the accuracy of the nano-materials distribution system, a model predictive controller (MPC) has been proposed and implemented on nano-material distribution systems. We compared proposed MPC controller with conventional PID controller in both simulation and experiment. The simulation and experiment results shown that the proposed model predictive controller works stably with high accuracy. This proposed controller could reduce errors of position cause by noise.
