Floor localization algorithm utilizing different order of access point from Wi-Fi signal fingerprint

The accretion of smartphone affects to a proliferation of demand in location service and system. A GPS is one of the famous technologies for localization because GPS can localize accurately when devices are outdoor. But when devices are indoor, GPS signal will be blocked by wall and roof. In order to create indoor localization system, there are many researches related to this topic. Most of previous works have focused on horizontal localization that considered only one floor of a building. In order to make system be more flexible to any building that consist of different number of floors, localization system should have ability in vertical localization or floor identification. In this paper, we proposed a floor localization algorithm which can be used on a smart device without installing any server. Our algorithm use only Wi-Fi signal to localize floor level of the device. The evaluation results show our algorithm provides up to 100.00% of accuracy.
