High density current electron emission from graphene

Due to its two-dimensional hexagonal crystal lattice structure, graphene has extraordinary properties for field emission. With the high aspect ratio, excellent conductivity and large quantities of edges, graphene has been treated as an ideal efficient field emitter. Here we report a kind of cathode high density current electron emission about graphene, whose output power is 1.5 times higher than the traditional ones, and emission current was nearly rectangular emission pulse. Because of the large quantities edges with a lot of defects and functional groups, the graphene can easily make uniform plasma and hold on continuously for the high current explosive emission.
