An Enhancement Method for Non-uniform Illumination in Coal Mine

There is a high requirements for the quality of underground monitoring images in coal mine to ensure safe and efficient production. Thus, images enhancement should be done before image analysis and decision making. To solve the problem, this paper provides a modified switch median filter image-processing method to reinforce detailed information based on two-dimensional wavelet decomposition algorithm. The experimental results proves that such method reinforced interesting detailed area in the images taken underground in coal mine. Through result analyses comparison with traditional median filter method, the improved method has obvious advantages.
