THz transport properties and noises in QW channel of MCT hot-electron bolometer

This research is aimed to the study of transport properties and noises in semi-metallic Hg
_1-x
Cd
_x
Te (MCT) quantum wells (QWs) at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K). These structures are perspective for the usage as a channel of THz hot-electron bolometer because they are characterized by non-parabolic energy dispersion law, and have high intrinsic concentrations and high electron mobility in bulk. Growth of such QWs is very expensive, thus for efficient construction of optimized hot-electron bolometers on their base one has to start from numerical modeling of their transport properties. In this study, the dependencies of electron mobility, channel resistance and noises on QW parameters are simulated. QW parameters which allow growth of high-mobility and low-noise samples are obtained.
