Blockage detection algorithm for automotive radars

The automotive radar may sometimes be covered with snow, dirt, or other obscurants, a state which we refer to as radar blockage. The radar must be able to detect blockage as a fault state. In this paper, we report on an algorithm to detect blockage in an automotive radar by direct examination of the range-Doppler map.
