Localization of moving edge with sub pixel accuracy in 1-D images

Contour detection is often utilized algorithm in picture processing. Sometimes is useful to localize edges with sub-pixel accuracy. In this paper we discuss about precise position of edge which is moving during the exposure time. To localize moving edge we define accumulative function and then we use three edge detection algorithms with sub-pixel accuracy in 1-D images: algorithm based on approximation of image function with function erf, method based on statistical moments and technique using spatial moments of the 1-D image. Our article presents results of simulations with noisy images, as accuracy criterion we choose the upper and lower 5% quantiles.
