Self symmetric phase gradient metasurface for performance improvement of planar antenna

A phase Gradient Metasurface (GM) is proposed to improve performance of low profile planar antenna by anomalous reflection and surface wave coupling. The unit cell of GM is composed of eight resonating metallic patch with self symmetric property in vertical direction by repetition of the resonating square patches. A prototype of the design has simulated using CST Microwave Studio to validate our proposal.
