Optimizing the jitter losses using adaptive jitter buffer at the receiver

Latency and loss of Packets will effectively degrade the quality of data that is transmitted through packet networks. Data travelling from sender to the receiver may incur from delay variation, and may arrive out of order or even may be lost. To reduce the delay variation, jitter buffers are used at the receiver side in packet based transmitted systems. The property of jitter buffers is to restore the correct order of packets and to allow the delayed packets to arrive. In this paper we are developing an adaptive jitter buffer algorithm for a Voice over IP application for optimizing the jitter losses at the receiver side.
