Analysis of BER using ternary level line coding

Line coding technique helps to ensures that data encoded is suitable for transmission over channel. Different line coding offers different advantages like DC component elimination, minimizing the signal rate, increasing the Baud rate and so on. This new pseudo ternary technique line coding proposed in [1] uses three level (-1, 0, 1) based on overlapping of block of bits and has proved useful in improving the Bit Error Rate. For this a newly designed encoder and decoder are used, which are based on transmission of different block of bits on the channel. Simulation results demonstrate that BER can be reduced to zero using this technique. This new line coding algorithm can be employed where more accuracy in data and large baud rate is the need and power used is not an issue.
