Multi-objective visual analysis of PI current regulator for high performance PMSM drives

In this paper, a general and visual analysis method is presented, devoting to the design of high performance PI regulator for PMSM drives. The proposed method is based on multi-objective optimization, which allows fitting several performance requirements simultaneously. The complete stable region is obtained based on D-Partition, which is surrounded by PI parameters. By using the proposed approach, the design of PI regulator coefficient would be allowed to take phase margin, gain margin, bandwidth and parameters variation into consideration. Including sampling, computation and PWM delays and allowing multi-objective, best evaluation of PI parameters is directly achieved. Based on these satisfactory regions, it is more convenient and explicit to optimize the system performance. The multi-objective visual analysis achieves robust stability and dynamic performance, avoiding trial and error tuning. Experimental results validate the PMSM system of good static and dynamic performance while using the designed PI parameters.
