A Logic Framework for C2C Network Management

In the past few decades the growth of fatal accidents elicited an increasing interest in prevention planning and in Vehicular Ad Hoc NETworks (VANETs). This paper suggests a new logical approach to the problem, based on Prolog meta-interpreters. Logic Programming languages, such as Prolog, can provide a multilevel controlled framework aimed to constructing more flexible models and customize standard inferential processes. Indeed, thanks to meta-interpreters, we can create a new proof strategy. This approach is more efficient than the approach based on other types of language. Furthermore, even though in the past Petri Nets have been widely exploited to model and analyze discrete events, as well as to manage flows of urban traffic, in our model Petri Nets are aimed at developing a tool for managing exceptional road events, such as vehicle collisions or punctures. The integration between this framework and the C2C communication makes feasible not only to follow the evolution and to observe the relationship between the events, but also to broadcast the processed information. Finally, a parametric comparison between the "logic based" model and other main implementations was performed.
