A hybrid approach and fourier analysis for detection human respiratory rate and heart beat

In this paper, the non-invasive detection of human respiratory rate and heart beat using a stepped-frequency continuous wave (SFCW) radar is addressed through the hybrid approach and Fourier analysis framework. A hybrid approach for inhomogeneous object is employed to calculate the received fields from human torso including the rib cage and the heart. Then the Fourier analysis is conducted based on these received signals to detect the respiratory rate and heartbeat.
