Monte Carlo evaluation on implementation of autopilot in HIL simulation

A simulation framework of a guided ballistic missile has been developed to aid the design and development of autopilot of a missile guidance system. In this framework, a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) is utilized in the autopilot. The system dynamic engine works with the hardware autopilot in order to guide the simulated missile platform during a flight. Performance of the hardware autopilot is evaluated based on the Circular Error Probability (CEP) of the impact points obtained from a Monte-Carlo experiment. Results are compared against CEP of simulation outputs from both unguided flights and guided flights with software autopilot.
