Creating panoramic image for linear transducer ultrasound Doppler images

Due to the limited field of view of Doppler's prop, the physician can examine only small parts of the whole operating field from artery/vein at once. The exams results will be a large number of videos or images, which means visual control for the long regions is difficult, and the diagnoses of some diseases like arteriosclerosis are not easy and not accurate. A panoramic image which covers a larger field of view can overcome this difficulty. In this research, we present a new approach which is capable of stitching the linear transducer Doppler videos or images to obtain a panoramic image for the long artery/vein. This procedure is based on designing an interface to insert and process the useful images and determining the coordinates of artery edges and center, by using a designed program in Visual Basic language.
