Modeling a KrF Laser-Triggered SF/sub 6/ Spark Gap

The original motivation of our theoretical investigation was to study the effect of field shaping on spark gap performance using our 2D Electric Field (ELF) analysis code [Ref. 1]. However, we soon discovered that the dominant phenomenology is one-dimensional, and developed a filamentary streamer model incorporating a model of the interaction between the focused KrF laser and the SF6 gas.
