Passive and active component design using PBG

Photonic bandgap (PBG) structures offer expansion of the circuit and component design for microwave, millimeter-wave as well as optical applications. This paper presents several recent efforts by the authors' group in conceiving, designing and testing new types of high-frequency circuits, both passive and active, based on the use of PBG structures.
