The Marine Technology Complementing Oceanographic Research At Oregon State University

The School of Oceanography at Oregon State Uni versity was started in 1954 with $10,000 and a row boat. Today the funding level is $6,200,000 and two oceangoing research vessels. Almost thirty percent of these research dollars are spent to develop, maintain or purchase oceanographic research equipment. This presentation is intended to convey how engineering is being applied to a broad spectrum of oceanic research.
