Frequency stability improvement of tunable optoelectronic oscillator by means of low frequency servo-control loop

A dynamic compensation scheme based on fixed servo-control loop is proposed and demonstrated in the present paper to improve the long-term stability of the wideband and tunable optoelectronic oscillator. Low frequency reference is employed to monitor and extract the phase drift of the long fiber link. The frequency drift of the OEO is compensated by tuning the laser wavelength. The final experiment results show that Allan deviation at 1000-s averaging time has improved more than two orders of magnitude.
