Efficient wavelength shifting through cascaded second-order nonlinear processes in organic and inorganic crystals

We performed experiments of wavelength shifting in novel second-order materials possessing high nonlinearities. Results are encouraging for applications to optical signal processing, especially for periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) in view of possibly realising optical waveguide devices.
