Recent developments in perturbation analysis

Summary form only given. The purpose of this study is to review some of the more recent developments in perturbation analysis (PA) from a unified viewpoint. Concepts such as aggregation, statistical equivalence, smoothing, uniformization, and representation of stochastic processes take on more concrete meanings when viewed in the unified PA mind-set. The richness of the subject matter will become apparent and may thus attract more researchers to this fertile area. It is the authors' thesis that these concepts, combined with the basic approach of perturbation analysis, enable them to develop a general approach to the problem of performance evaluation of discrete event dynamic systems.<
