Research and implementation for 2D MMSE channel estimation

Channel estimation is a key technology of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing. In this article, given the maximum Doppler frequency and maximum delay spread, we design the optimized pilot pattern and the taps for Wiener interpolation filter according to the MMSE algorithm, and implement the LMMSE channel estimation in FPGA. Compared to two-dimensional Wiener filter, its performance is next to ideal channel estimation and it costs less hardware resource.
