High frequency modeling of square spiral inductor

The spiral inductors are extensively used in radiofrequency integrated circuits (RFIC) and are founding theirs applicability in wireless communications, in wireless power systems supply, in biomedical implants. The spiral inductors as component element of RFIC affect the performances of the devices in which they are used. To treat the problems that appear is necessary to analyze and model them in order to understand their behavior in high frequency (HF). In this paper we will present the high frequency modeling for square spiral inductors implemented on RFIC in order to analyze the influence of via, underpass, oxide, substrate and air on the current density and on the inductance and also we analyze the inductance variation with frequency.
