2.5 Inch Flat-type Phase-change Optical Disk Drive

A 2.5 inch flat-type, phase-change optical disk drive of 15mm in height has been developed to be mounted into a notebook-type personal computer. In order to thin down the drive height we developed a 0.6mm polycarbonate substrate, phase-change type optical disk materials, and a 6mm height thin-type optical head.
