Massively parallel FDTD program JEMS-FDTD and its applications in platform coupling simulation

This paper introduces a massively parallel electromagnetic field computation program named JEMS-FDTD (J ElectroMagnetic Solver-Finite Difference Time Domain). JEMS-FDTD is designed to simulate the radiation, propagation, coupling of electromagnetic waves using the FDTD method with MPI and OPENMP library, oriented to being executed on tens of thousands of processors with high efficiency. JEMS-FDTD has the potential of solving electric-large problems of thousands wavelengths with hundreds of billions mesh cells. In this paper, the architecture of JEMS-FDTD and main features are discussed, as well as the hierarchical data structure through which the high parallel efficiency is obtained. Two numerical examples of electric-large platform coupling problems are presented to demonstrate JEMS-FDTD's capability in EMC applications.
