Numerical impact of surface conductivity on the Green's function for thin graphene films

Surface plasmon waves excited by a current source in presence of a graphene layer impacts the signal integrity in ultrafast VLSI interconnects. Recent full-wave analysis based on the problem-matched Green's function containing Sommerfeld integrals shows that the propagation constant of TM and TE surface plasmon waves are strongly influenced by the quantum-mechanical properties of the surface conductivity of graphene. The calculation of the surface conductivity is explored here and some select analytical and numerical aspects are investigated in context of surface plasmon wave propagation.
