A time-domain analysis of the influence of electron velocity spread in gyro-TWT

A time-domain theory is developed to investigate the influence of electron velocity spread in gyro-TWT. Calculation shows that the output gain and the stable time is sensitive to velocity spread, it is better to keep the spread below 6% for a good performance.
