Spherical configurations for near-field antenna measurements

When making discrete measurements on a spherical surface surrounding an antenna, the ideal would be to use uniformly spaced measurement locations. However, because of the curvature, this is impossible. We describe various configurations which approximate uniform spacing. One of them uses only about 10% more locations than the ideal for the same resolution. A minimum travel scanning sequence for visiting each location once has also been developed for each configuration.
