Analysis on shaft torsion response of 600MW steam turbine unit under quick load regulation

The safe and stable operation of the large capacity thermal power unit must be seriously affected by the rapidly changed load when the unit participates in peak regulation. This paper takes a domestic 600MW steam turbine unit as an example, sets up a mass-spring model with lumped parameter method and calculates the torsional vibration responses of the shafts with the method combined Riccati transfer matrix method with Newmark-β method when the load rapidly changes. As a result, the maximum torque of the shaft appears on the coupling between the 2 # low pressure rotor and the generator rotor, the rotor's torsional angles at the ‘maximum torque’ place are opposite when load rises and falls, the amplitude of torque has a relationship with the power when the load starts to change (The greater the power, the greater the torque.) and the power frequency is not included in the frequency spectrum of the torque.
