Research on bistatic ISAR coherent imaging of space high speed moving target

The echo of high speed moving target is modulated by pulse Doppler, which may lead to mainlobe extension and location distortion of one-dimensional range profile. The modulation also affects the imaging quality and the implement of coherent imaging algorithm. A bistatic inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) coherent imaging method of space high speed moving target is proposed. Firstly, the delay time of target to transmitting and receiving station is derived according to the geometry relationship of bistatic radar, and the echo model of bistatic ISAR is built. Then, the compensation phase item is created and the speed compensation is finished. Finally, the coherent imaging simulation is carried out and the result shows the excellence of the method in this paper. The algorithm provides the compensation basis for the implementation of coherent Range-Doppler (RD) imaging method and back projection (BP) algorithm which have high demand to target position accuracy.
