A fast dye sucking method for dye-sensitized solar cell fabrication

For the thin TiO
₂
porous film, there are many voids inside the film, which impede dye absorbing due to dye solution surface tension. The vacuum sucking method removes air, and injects into the films through voids by the siphon phenomenon. We result in a better efficiency of DSSC with 24% increase by the vacuum sucking method at 50°C dye solution temperature, compared to that of conventional immersing method at room temperature for 1 hour. The 4.34% efficiency by using the vacuum sucking method almost reaches the efficiency (4.49%) through the conventional dye-immersing method for 8 hours. This method could significantly reduce fabricating time, and improve DSSC throughput.
