Controlling the morphology of ZnO nanorod arrays by tuning zinc nitrate/hexamethylene tetramine solution to enhance the power conversion efficiency of inverted polymer solar cell

In this work, method of controlling the morphology of ZnO NR arrays has been demonstrated. Moreover, with different morphologies of ZnO NR arrays affect the efficiencies of inverted PBDTTT-C-T:PC[70]BM polymer solar cells. By means of controlling the morphology of ZnO NR arrays, the device power conversion efficiency has been enhanced from 1.89% to 6.07%, Voc
₂
from 0.45V to 0.75V, short current from 11.4 to 13.9 mA/cm and fill factor from 36% to 59%. To summarize, a low-cost, mass fabrication and easily solution-processed method to enhance the device PCE of inverted polymer solar cell has been showed in this study.
