Explorations of 3D virtual spaces: applications of VR

Despite what we have heard from the mass media, Virtual Reality technology is still in its infancy. Numerous research prototypes have suggested that this technology will be meaningfully applied to seven general applications. This paper describes development of a general visualization system that has been applied to the domains of virtual walkthroughs and the visualization of abstract information.
