FE-calculation of the thermoelectric treatment of orthodontic devices made of pseudoelastic NiTi-alloys

The application of the finite-element method is a practicable tool to simulate the thermomechanical treatment of orthodontic devices. The calculation of this thermomechanic-/electric coupled problem gives us detailed knowledge of the characteristic influence of several properties and dimensions in this specific configuration. By interpreting these results carefully, some important optimizations of a new programming-device, called Memory-Maker, can be done.
