Nations around the world are gearing up for the greatest explosion in television technology since the earliest days of broadcasting three to four decade ago. In the United States, recent rulings of the Federal Communications Commission, coupled with advances in technology, have opened up new portions of the electromagnetic spectrum to television programming. Moreover, the FCC has also repealed restrictions that prevented other regions of the spectrum from being fully developed.
