Integrated microwave photonics for phase modulated systems

In this paper, the authors present the progress in integrated MWP for phase modulated systems. A large portion of the paper is devoted to the integrated photonic frequency discriminator which we recently reported. The application of this PIC in MWP systems such as high spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) MWP link and pulse shaper for impulse radio ultrawideband (IR-UWB) system will be discussed. Finally, the prospect of integrated MWP will be briefly discussed.
