Detection sensors for electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation

New industrial Non Destructive Testing (NDT) requires the development of new probes because the use of inductance coil sensors are limited for low frequency application such as for detection of deep buried cracks and defect on the edge of the specimen. This paper deals with magnetic sensors (giant magnetoresistance — GMR and fluxgate sensors). The comparison of selected sensors, their properties and application in nondestructive testing are presented in this article.
