Dielectric resonator antennas based in BiYWO6 and operating at 3.3 GHz: Electrical properties study

In this work, we study the dielectric properties and structure of the BiYWO
₆
dielectric resonator (DR) obtained by microwave assisted fast solid state synthesis. The crystal structure of BiREWO
₆
(RE=rare earth) can be associated to the Bi
₂
WO
₆
perovskite structure. It was observed that the crystalline structure was attributed to a monoclinic phase with space group A12/m1. The agreement between experimental and simulated values for the resonant frequency and the bandwidth for all DRAs was considered good. The results showed that the obtained values for the dielectric permittivity (ε
_r
') can be useful for capacitor applications and certainly for microelectronics and microwave devices (cell mobile phones, for example), where the miniaturization of the devices is crucial.
