Comparative study of purification efficiency between the single system and nonwoven fabrics — Aquatic plants combination system

Polyester (PET) non-woven fabrics that had already hung biofilm, were respectively combined with Eichhornia crassipes and Egeria densa to form microbial-submersed plants and microbial- submerged plant purification system. By setting up two coverage rates 30%, 60%, and three single control groups, removal rates of turbidity, COD, NH
₃
-N and TP under the condition in different combination groups were comparative analysed. In the study, compared to the single system, purification efficiency of combination system was obviously better. And purification efficiency of the Eichhornia crassipes group was better than that of the Egeria densa group. And the optimal removal efficiency of the two combination systems all lay in the coverage rate of 60%. In addition, one dimensional water quality model of organic matter degradation in combination system was built.
