Three-pool model vs. nonnegative least squares algorithm for myelin water quantification

In this paper, comparison of two T

based analysis technique for measurements of myelin content, regularized non-negative least squares (rNNLS) algorithm and three-pool modeling method, have been presented. Simulation and in vivo experiments were performed for the comparison of the two techniques. For fair comparison, both discretely and continuously distributed T
₂
spectrum were considered in the simulations. The simulation and in vivo experiments have been demonstrated that three-pool model is more appropriate method for robust myelin water quantification.
