COD monitoring of diode lasers

We present experiments, which have been carried out with the general goal of temporally resolving the entire COD process. These 'monitoring-approaches' involve the use of a thermocamera, which unambiguously identifies the presence of the thermal runaway by a 'thermal flash' of Planck's radiation. Additionally, this allows the detection of internal COD events not leading to facet alterations.
