Core alignment of butt-coupling between single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers by monitoring Brillouin scattering signal

We propose a novel method to optimize the core alignment of the butt-coupling between a single-mode optical fiber and a graded-index multi-mode optical fiber by monitoring the spectrum of Brillouin scattered light.
