Planar compact WWAN Antenna for Netbook/eBook applications

A planar compact WWAN Antenna for Netbook/eBook applications is presented. By inserting an additional parasitic open slot under the shorted-T monopole, bandwidth for the antenna's both lower and upper bands can be enhanced to cover full band for GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS operation (824 - 960 MHz and 1710 - 2170 MHz). Smooth variation for the radiation pattern in each applicable frequency is seen in the study.
