The study on hot test and thermal stress and distortion of cast copper staves with buried copper pipe

In order to meet the needs of prolonging the blast furnace life, a buried copper pipe cast copper stave with higher performance and low cost was developed. The cast copper stave was first systemically studied in this paper, including hot test and Hangzhou Steel's No.2 BF industry test results. Using numerical simulation method, the effect of furnace temperature, edge contact pressure on thermal stress and thermal deformation of the cast copper staves was researched. . Its cooling capacity is equivalent with rolled copper staves. The calculation results of heat stress indicate that the cast copper staves will not generate fatigue crack under high heat loading. The industry test results show the cast copper staves maintain a more stable accretion layer. Because the advantage with higher cooling capacity, special pathway orientation of cooling channel and low cost for the cast copper staves, it has an extensive application for future.
