Intelligent optimal tuning of hydraulic turbine governor PID gains based on nonlinear model

Based on the hydraulic-mechanincal-electrical mathematical models provided by IEEE working group, the non-elastic water hammer effect was consided for hydro turbine regulating system of single-machine and single-conduit without surge tank. And then, genetic algorithm was applied to optimal tuning of hydraulic turbine governor PID gains. The computer simulation results indicate the effectiveness of the optimal results.
