The effect of local anesthetic on nerve conduction velocity distribution

The effect of local anesthetic on nerve conduction velocity distribution (NCVD) was investigated by using the technique developed by D. Gu. (M.Sc Thesis, Saskatoon, Univ. of Saskatchewan, p. 1-142, 1994). The results show that the change of NCVD versus time was consistent with the function of a local anesthetic. The experimental method presented here might become an approach to determine the effect of a local anesthetic or other agents causing a change in nerve conduction.
