The Effects of Sensing Environment and Mixing Technique on Performance of Biosensors Based on Graphene Oxide Fluorescence Quenching

There have been various studies on the fluorescence quenching behavior of graphene oxide (GO) which proved its ability as a highly-sensitive, low-cost, and efficient biosensor, especially those used as DNA probes. However, previous studies neglected the effects of the physical and chemical environments on achieving the desired performance. In our study, we found that attention must be paid to the use of GO to realize desired sensing behavior through both pre- and post-mixing experiments under different environments. Our study can serve as a reference for the selection of GO's concentration and other parameters in related experiments.
