Experiment on the removal of soot emissions from diesel engine with non-thermal plasma assisted catalyst technology

catalyst system. The experiment was carried out, and the discharge parameters of the NTP reactor were investigated, which had remarkable effect on the removal of soot emissions from diesel engine under the treatment of NTP technology. Meanwhile, in the same discharge condition, the exhaust temperature was also investigated on the removal of soot emissions under the treatment of the NTP technology. The results showed that the NTP technology was favorable towards the removal of soot emissions, and the soot emissions were decreased with the increase of the energy density and the exhaust temperature; But compared with the NTP technology, the effect of the NPAC technology on the removal of soot emissions was relatively better. Under the discharge frequency of 12.5 kHz, the soot emissions would be reduced more effectively by the NTP technology.
